In addition to adhering to our own code of ethics, Sciona is committed to working within all applicable regulatory frameworks. We are working closely with regulatory agencies, governmental and non-governmental organizations, in the process of establishing regulatory regimes and codes of practice for personalized healthcare.
We are committed to meeting the highest ethical standards and will, in addition to fulfilling our regulatory responsibilities, commission independent ethical reviews of our activities by external bodies.
Sciona's mission is to harness the power of genetics for individuals. Sciona's services will be provided upon the fulfillment of certain criteria. When the implications of the information are likely to impact on medical interventions, the service will only be provided through a qualified practitioner.
Sciona believes that:
1. Every adult has the right to access information relating to their own genone.

Every adult has the right to choose with whom they share that information.
3. People are capable of interpreting fairly complex information when it relates to their own well-being.
4. People recognize that scientific advance is a continual process. Nonetheless, information that already exists should be made available.
5. Individuals should benefit from information derived from genome research, much of which has been publicly funded.
